After being declared winner in the general secretary race, Richard Chimwendo Banda said he wanted to strengthen the party and foster unity among party members.

“I want to help President Lazarus Chakwera in making sure that the party is vibrant, grass root structures are working and everybody is taking part in party activities,” he said.

He said the party eyes more members of Parliament and ward councillors during the September 16 2025 elections.

“To achieve this, we will make sure that democracy thrives in the party,” he said.
