Silver Strikers have warned that those found selling fake tickets will face unspecified action.
This comes two days before Silver host Tanzanian Premier Soccer League champions Young Africans (Yanga) Sporting Club in a 2025-26 Caf Champions League second preliminary round first leg match at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe this coming Saturday.
Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba said it was unfortunate that some supporters were involved in the malpractice.
“It is unfortunate that some people are selling fake tickets. We have security features on our tickets so that we can catch those who are using fake tickets,” he said.
Chimimba said the culprits would face stiffer punishment.

He urged football lovers to purchase tickets from designated places to avoid embarrassment on the day.
“We want the club to maximise gate revenue but we also want to protect fans by ensuring that they buy original tickets for the match,” Chimimba said.
In a related development, Silver supporters’ chairperson Kingsley Malaya said his committee would work hand-in-hand with other stakeholders in ensuring that their supporters are buying original tickets ahead of the match.
“We, as supporters, need to help the club to generate more resources. This is good opportunity for the club to generate more money,” Malaya said.

The Tanzanian champions are expected to arrive in the country today for the first leg match.
The two teams will face each other in the second leg at Benjamin Nkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam next week.
