Organizing committee chairperson for the 2025 Blantyre 42.195 Kilometre Race, David Pwetekani, has said all is set for the event scheduled to start and finish at Kamuzu Stadium in the commercial city tomorrow.
Pwetekani said they expect an exciting competition with over 200 local and foreign participants having registered for the annual contest.
“All preparations are in order and we are excited to share that registration has gone incredibly well. Over 200 runners are registered, including international participants and a good number of female runners.
“So we are fully set for the seventh edition of the race which will be held under the theme ‘Embrace the Challenge’. It is going to be an exciting event to watch and experience,” Pwetekani said.
He said the race will also have free aerobics and fun games at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

The race will have a new champion this year as 2024 winner Mphatso Nadolo has not travelled from his base in South Africa to defend his title tomorrow.
The runner’s Zomba-based coach Benedicto Malimba said he is committed with other pressing matters in the Rainbow Nation.
“Nadolo is committed with other matters requiring his attention in South Africa. So as a coach, I am concentrating on preparing my runners in the 10 and 5 kilometre (km) categories. We expect to leave for Blantyre tomorrow [today],” Malimba said Thursday.
This year’s winner will walk away with K2 million while the runner-up will receive K1.5 million.
