Renowned gospel musician Wendy Harawa, who leads Jacobs Events, said on Moonday that they were prepared to host the Bridge Afric Southern Africa launch workshop to bring on board several players both local and international in the creative industry at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) Banquet in Lilongwe on March 23 2024.
The Bridge Afric Southern Africa launch workshop follows Wendy and Lulu’s attendance of the Bridge Afric launch in Nigeria last year.
“Everything is set. We are now just preparing ground logistics. The guests start flying in on Tuesday. Some of the people coming include Jean Michelle from Paris Trace, Eric Bellamy from Live Nation, Ayo Animashou, who is the Chief Executive Officer for Hip TV and Victoria Okong, the President of Bridge Afric,” Wendy said.
She said the event was vital in that through it, Malawian creatives will be able to connect with other renowned creatives on the global stage.
“Malawian creatives will now be able to go to events not only to do it for Malawians but the world and beyond. This will improve artists financially,” Wendy said.

She said Bridge Afric is instrumental as it helps to find funding for countries such as Malawi.
“I trust and believe that once they see the talent, our artists are bound to get deals, the theme is collaboration, investment and talent development. My expectations are very high because this can also help Malawi economically,” Wendy, who is also Copyright Society of Malawi (Cosoma) board member, said.
Nkong said recently that Bridge Afric’s primary objective is to promote and showcase African artists, providing them with platforms to reach a global audience beyond their home countries.
“This initiative encompasses developing talents in the Francophone world, ensuring visibility in Anglophone regions and fosterin g collaborations through showcases and tours across the continent,” she said.
