Veteran gospel musician Allan Ngumuya is revisiting some of his old songs to breathe life into them.
This is part of 40th anniversary celebrations this year.
The seasoned musician, who is based in the United States, said yesterday that out of 180 of the 15 albums that he has to his acclaim, he is working on songs to improve the quality of the sound.
“I will now be giving these albums as Redefining Allan Ngumuya volumes. The other secret in some of these albums will be putting two or four new songs to them,” Ngumuya said.
He said he, at first, was running with Reviving Allan Ngumuya but changed to Redefining Allan Ngumuya.

“Reviving sounded like I stopped music, which is not the case. I, therefore, changed to Redefining since it is just a redefinition of my existing career,” Ngumuya said.
The artist, who was at one time preoccupied with politics, further said there are some songs he feels were done nicely, such that he will leave them intact.
“The music game I started as a Seventh Day Adventist member needs to continue and I am happy that I have clocked 40 years of ministering the word of God through music,” Ngumuya said.
The artist has been on top of the bill utilising hymns in most of his previous collections.

“Singing for the Lord will always be my way of life and I am happy to bring the 16th album in which I have worked with different people, including a guy from Congo who is based in South Africa,” he said.
Ngumuya debuted with Mtanda in 1989 before dropping his second Kweza Maso in 1992.
The other collections are Misonzi, Kodi Yesu Asamala?, Umkonde Yesu, Tidzikumbukila, Mbiri Ya Mdanda, I’Ve Got Hope, Mathews 7 verse 7 and He Touched Me.
