match—Swallows
Malawi National Football Team forward Frank Gabadinho Mhango endured a bad start at South Africa DStv Premiership side Moroka Swallows as his side went down 1-0 to Cape Town City on Wednesday at the Dobsonville Stadium.
Mhango switched to Swallows over the weekend on a two-year deal from the KwaZulu Natal side AmaZulu FC.
The former Orlando Pirates striker was introduced by coach Steve Komphela in the 72nd minute to replace Mahlatse Makhudubela when the Dube Birds were down by a goal through Taahir Goedeman’s 53rd minute strike.
Despite making some promising attempts, the former Bidvest Wits star could not save Swallows from suffering their first defeat as City keeper Darren Keet saved his dangerous free kick.
However, Mhango w gave some positive aspects of the match, saying they worked hard despite the loss.

“In the first place, I am happy to be part of this Swallows family. It was just unfortunate that we failed to win the game after putting in all our effort. I have no doubt that we will do better in our next match,” Mhango said.
Mhango has followed the footsteps of Flames interim coach Patrick Mabedi, who played for Swallows in the 2006 season.
Currently, the former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets star is the only Malawian playing in the South African Premier Soccer League.
Swallows are 13th on the log table with a point from two matches while City are second with six points from the same number of games.
