Body builder Wellington ‘Bulldozer’ Mwangonde has won a gold medal in the Open Classic Physique of the Dennis James Classic to continue building his reputation in Germany.
The development comes after Mwangonde became the second Malawian to secure an International Federation of BodyBuilding and Fitness (IFBB) professional licence in Luxembourg five weeks ago.
Mwangonde said he was motivated to continue excelling.
“Winning a gold medal in the Open Classic Physique category at the Dennis James Classic— the largest bodybuilding competition in Germany— means a lot to me. Competing against top athletes from all over the world is no small feat, and this victory has given me an entry onto one of the biggest stages in bodybuilding. I see it as a step towards even greater success in the years ahead,” Mwangonde said.
He hailed his family and coach for supporting him.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to my wife, the CEO of Bulldozer Motivation, for standing by my side through every competition. Her support, along with our child’s presence, is invaluable to me. It is not easy and I truly respect the dedication she shows for our journey. I do not take it for granted.
“I am also deeply grateful to my coach, Edger Kisler, who instills a relentless focus on hard work and winning. Together, we are a strong team and I appreciate having him by my side. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of Team Sportnahrung Engel, who ensure I am fuelled with the best supplementation for my fitness goals,” he said.
Bodybuilding analyst Desire Kambewa tipped Mwangonde to flourish.
“He recently won a pro card and, now, he has started proving his prowess. It shows that Malawi has talented bodybuilders,” he said.
