Britam Insurance Malawi has donated K4.5 million Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) to go towards preparatory works on the upcoming Business Leaders’ Summit.
Britam Chief Executive Officer Wales Meja said the summit stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation, bringing together industry leaders, entrepreneurs and policymakers to chart the course for a thriving economy, hence the donation.
“Our investment in this summit reflects our belief in the limitless potential of Malawi and our dedication to driving sustainable growth and development. Let us seize this opportunity to forge new partnerships, exchange valuable insights, and explore innovative solutions that will propel our businesses and our nation forward,” Meja said.
MCCCI Chief Executive Officer Daisy Kambalame lauded the company for the support, stressing that it will go a long way in ensuring smooth deliberations.
“If you look at the topic this year, we’re looking at re-engineering business in line with shocks because it’s so easy to focus on the negative. It is so easy to focus on the things that have gone wrong without really looking at how do we actually take ourselves out of this, accepting the environment in which you’re operating and also looking at how do we now create opportunities by looking at the challenges and having solutions that are actually going to help the economy,” Kambalame said.
