The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has announced that the 2025 Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup will kick off in September.
Initially, the two competitions were scheduled to start in August this year.
But a Caf statement states that the shift in the calendar is due to the African Nations Championship (Chan) finals, which will be staged in August.
Following the changes, the first preliminary round first leg matches will be played between September 19 and 21, with the second leg scheduled for September 26 to 28.
The second preliminary round matches will be played between October 17 and 26 whereas the group stages will start from November to February next year.

The final is scheduled for May 8 to 25.
Caf also announced that the registration window for participating teams will commence from August 1 to 31, 2025.
Silver Strikers and Mighty Wanderers have already finalised the registration process for the competitions.

Silver will take part in the Caf Champions League after winning the TNM Super League last season whereas Wanderers will take part in the Confederation Cup after winning Castel Challenge Cup.
Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba asked for ample time before commenting on the matter.
On his part, Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi said they were satisfied with the squad they have.
“We have a good squad which is geared to compete this season locally and internationally.
“However, coach Bob Mpinganjira may decide to make reinforcements, which will require that we get him what he wants,” he said.
For the past five years, former TNM Super League champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have been Malawi’s sole representative in Caf club competitions.
