The country’s cooperative movement has intensified calls for the establishment of a cooperative bank, arguing that such an institution would better protect and advance their interests than modern commercial banks.
Malawi Federation of Cooperatives (Mafeco) Executive Director John Mulangeni Nkosi made the remarks in Lilongwe on Friday during events marking International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
