Kapichira and Nkula hydropower stations have been earmarked for rehabilitation and modernisation to improve efficiency and reliability, in an effort to strengthen electricity generation.
A call for tender notice published by the Electricity Generation Company (Egenco) shows that the government has initiated the process of engaging a probity advisor for the rehabilitation of Kapichira Power Station, a key step in procuring contractors for the project.
