Football Association of Malawi (Fam) and JK Productions will sign a memorandum of understanding before the start of the new season following the two sides’ meeting at Mpira House in Blantyre yesterday.
Founded by former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets official Jim Kalua, JK Productions is a grouping of the country’s former football stars and aims at contributing to football various activities such as football matches and interactions with stakeholders in the game.
The meeting was aimed at discussing how the legends can work with Fam in developing football across the country.

During the meeting, Fam President Fleetwood Haiya shared his Transforming Malawi Football agenda with the legends, emphasising on building collaborative foundations for football development.
Haiya told Fam.mw that his vision recognises limitations of solitary efforts and aims at forging robust partnerships with stakeholders such as legends.

“Our collaborative aspiration rests on the firm belief that football development cannot thrive in isolation. We are taking a multi-sectoral approach which requires strategic collaboration with key stakeholders including legends.
“Our celebrated former stars have a lot to offer to our game and we want to tap from their wisdom, experience and ideas on how we can collectively transform the game,” Fam’s website quotes him as saying.
JK Productions Board Chairperson Jim Kalua described the meeting as important.
“There are many issues that we discussed with the Fam president on how the legends can contribute towards football development in the country. During the meeting, we also commended him for the support he has been giving us for many years even before he assumed his present role.

“We also assured the president that we would support him so that his agenda succeeds. We have legends who are ready to give advice whenever needed. We are now just looking forward to the day when we will sign the memorandum of understanding so that we formalise our partnership,” Kalua said.
Kalua was accompanied to the meeting by his vice Justin Saidi, treasurer general Antony Msendema and trustees Rashid Nterera, Kinnah Phiri, Young Chimodzi, Lovemore Fazili, Chancy Gondwe and Peterkins Kayira.
