Betting firm World Star Betting (WSB) has joined the corporate world in supporting the FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers legends match scheduled for Monday at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
WSB has parted with K2 million to earn the tag of the match’s official sponsor.
Other corporate entities that committed to support the legends are FDH Bank and CIC Insurance.
Addressing the media at Bullets Club House in Blantyre Thursday, WSB Marketing Manager Annie Umali said supporting the match is part of the firm’s corporate social responsibility.
“It will be great to roll back the hands of the clock and remind ourselves how exciting these players were in those days. We are using the match as part of our corporate social responsibility as we are in the sport business.

“We want to be part of this big event and we cannot wait to watch the players who featured for Bullets and Wanderers in those years. The game will be on our betting list and Malawians will have the opportunity to place a bet on it,” Umali said.
The event’s organising committee chairperson Kevin Moyo expressed satisfaction with the support from the corporate world.
Moyo said the coming in of WSB was a clear indication of companies’ willingness to support Malawi football.
“This is a big event and WSB is our official sponsor. The door is still wide open to others to come in and support the cause before it’s too late. We are now calling this event Legends Cup, as the winner will go home with a cup.

“I want to assure companies that they will earn visibility during the match. This is the old Blantyre derby and I am sure football fans will enjoy watching our former stars from these two big clubs,” Moyo said.
Bullets are expected to feature their former stars such as Robert Ng’ambi, Rahim Ishmail, Fischer Kondowe, Grant Lungu, Noel Kaole and Charles Kalaile while Wanderers will have the likes of Gift Zakazaka, Joseph Kamwendo, Moses Chavula, Foster Namwera and Lawrence Majawa.
Meanwhile, organisers of the event have already put entrance tickets for the match on the market in Blantyre.
