FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are determined to keep coach Kalisto Pasuwa beyond the 2024 season after disclosing plans to open discussions to ward off interest from other teams on the continent.
Pasuwa’s contract will expire on December 31 this year but the People’s Team intend to act swiftly to prevent the Zimbabwean from accepting offers from South African and Ugandan clubs.
Bullets Chief Executive Officer Suzgo Nyirenda said they will soon open talks with Pasuwa’s representatives to tie down the coach following a successful season where he guided the side to a domestic quadruple.
“The coach has done well and it is in order to attract offers. As Bullets we are not sleeping either we will soon open talks with his [Pasuwa’s] management team to extend his contract beyond this year,” Nyirenda said this after Bullets completed a domestic quadruple when they beat Mafco 2-1 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday to win the Airtel Top 8 Cup.
Nyirenda is optimistic that Pasuwa would not be enticed to ditch Bullets where he has been winning trophies every season since his arrival in 2018.

“I am sure that Pasuwa is clever enough to make the right judgement. At Bullets we have given him freedom and he works under no pressure. Those other clubs are impatient; they easily fire coaches,” he said.
Pasuwa’s local representative Felix Ngamanya Sapao could not comment on the matter.
“I cannot comment as I am not aware of any extension,” Sapao said.
Ironically, Pasuwa clarified the mist surrounding his future after indicating that he wanted to see out his contract.

“Remember, I still have a year left on my contract and I have to fulfil it. If anything, I will have to talk to [Bullets] management,” Pasuwa told The Nation Monday.
Pasuwa has completed a successful season after inspiring Bullets to four major trophies this season.
Under Pasuwa’s tutelage, Bullets defended the TNM Super League championship and FDH Bank Cup before winning the Castel Ibongetse Cup and Airtel Top 8.
