Silver Strikers and Mighty Wanderers have finalised the process of registering for 2025 Confederation of African Football (Caf) inter-club competitions.
Both clubs submitted documents to the Football Association of Malawi (Fam) before last week’s deadline.
The association’s First Instance Body (FIB) met last week to evaluate documents from the two clubs.
Fam Competitions and Communications Director Gomezgani Zakazaka said yesterday that the process was going on well.
“The process is ongoing. More details will be released at an appropriate time,” he said.

Silver have expressed interest in taking part in the 2025 Caf Champions League after winning the TNM Super League title last season.
On the other hand, Wanderers qualified for the Caf Confederation Cup after winning the Ibongetse Castel Challenge Cup.
Both Silver and Wanderers must go through the Caf licencing process to participate in continental inter-club competitions.

Silver Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba said they submitted the documents.

“We are waiting [to hear] from Fam on the matter,” he said.
The Bankers are also required to reshuffle their technical panel, specifically for the position of coach as Peter Mgangira is not eligible to lead the team.
Mgangira does not have Caf A-Coaching Licence, which is a minimum requirement for coaches in the Caf Champions League.
On his part, Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi said the club was waiting for feedback from Fam.
“We submitted all the documents to Fam. We are keeping fingers crossed,” Ndovi said.
Caf rules and regulations state that clubs participating in Caf competitions must meet all the minimum requirements, namely sporting, infrastructure, administrative and personnel, legal and financial.
If Silver and Wanderers do not meet minimum requirements, other 14 teams will be given a chance to participate in the competition.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, who have been Malawi’s sole representative in Caf Champions League for five years, already announced that they will not take part this year.
Silver last participated in the Caf Confederation Cup in 2019 but were eliminated in the first preliminary round following a 4-3 loss they suffered on post-match penalties to Ambere SC of Gabon.
On the other hand, Wanderers last participated in the 2018 Caf Champions League but lost 6-1 on aggregate to Democratic Republic of Congo giants AS Vita.
