FDH Bank will hold a number of activities to set the hype for Sunday’s K120 million FDH Bank Cup final between Mafco and holders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
The bank’s senior marketing manager Ronald Chimchere said the climax of the activities will take place Sunday prior to the match.
“We are excited about the 2023 final. It will be a thrilling encounter between two good sides. We are encouraging our customers and football fans to come in large numbers and enjoy an afternoon of good football.
“We have a number of activities with customers and fans interacting with FDH staff in soccer shooting challenge and juggling skills among others,” he said.
Chimchere said this year’s journey has been fulfilling after the competition progressed national level from regional stage.
“We provided opportunities for individuals to showcase their talent and most importantly contribute to the economy through business activities that happen around football games.
“On the pitch, Bullets have a chance to defend the cup while Mafco can make history by winning the FDH Bank Cup for the first time. We are happy with the cup so far and looking forward to see who will be crowned champions of 2023 season,” he said.
Bullets reached the final after beating Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar 5-1 whereas Mafco stunned Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 1-0.
Before the start of the competition, FDH Bank increased sponsorship from K90 million to K120 million for the 2023 season.
The champions are expected to take home K30 million.
The increase will also see regional champions getting K700,000 with individual player awards getting a 50 percent hike from K200,000 to K300,000
