Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has started advance ticket sales for the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) dead-rubber qualifier between Malawi and Guinea at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe next week.
Fam started the sales on Tuesday with advance standard tickets going at K3,000 whereas on match day, the tickets will be selling at K4,000.
A VIP advance ticket is being sold at K10,000 whereas on Match Day, it will be going at K12,000.
In a statement released Friday, Fam said it expects a huge turnout following the Flames’ impressive performance at the 2023 Hollywoodbets Cosafa Cup in South Africa where they finished fourth.
’’The advance ticketing window started on Tuesday August 29 and will run until Friday September 8. The advance ticket sales will help reduce congestion at the gates, safeguard revenue and accord fans the opportunity to secure tickets at their own convenient time,’’ part of the statement reads.

According to Fam, fans buying the Flames replica jerseys during this period are getting a free standard ticket to watch the match.
The tickets have been distributed to 18 locations in both Lilongwe and Blantyre cities.
’’Extra measures have been taken to step up safety and security of players, fans and property. Additional private security firms will be engaged to support the efforts of Police and stewards,’’ the statement reads.
In readiness for the match, Flames home-based players started residential camp training at Mpira Village in Blantyre on Monday. The players have started the preparations after interim coach Patrick Mabedi named a 30-member squad for the match last week.

Malawi will be hoping for a better result after losing the first leg 1-0 in Conakry.
However, the Flames will have to look elsewhere for midfielder Chimwemwe Idana’s replacement as he will miss the match due to suspension.
Mabedi is expected to announce his final squad, which will include some foreign-country based players, next week.
The Flames were booted out of the qualifiers after back-to-back losses to Egypt who booked their ticket to the finals alongside Guinea.
The continental finals are scheduled for Ivory Coast next year.
