Malawi National Football Team striker Gabadinho Mhango has extended his contract with South African DStv Premiership side Moroka Swallows until the end of the 2025 season.
Mhango’s contract was due to expire at the end of this season.
However, he has put pen to paper for another year to put to rest rumours about his uncertain future at the Johannesburg based club.
Mhango’s manager Mike Makaab confirmed the development Friday.
“He has signed another contract. But we are still discussing other terms in the contract,” Makaab said.

The Malawian survived a massive clear out at the club which saw 22 players being released due to disputes with the players over unpaid dues.
Due to the disputes, Swallows failed to honour two fixtures against Lamontville Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns.
The club lost the matches and were fined R1 million (about K94.3 million) of which R600,000 (about K56.58 million) was suspended.
When contacted from his South Africa base, Mhango said he was happy to stay put at the club.

“It shows the club has a lot of trust in me. I am really humbled,’’ the former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets striker said.
The 31-year-old joined Swallows after leaving Amazulu in August last year.
Apart from Swallows and Amazulu, Mhango has played for Orlando Pirates, Bloemfontein Celtic, Arrows and Bidvest Wits. He won the Lesley Manyathela golden boot award when he scored 16 goals alongside Namibian Peter Shalulile in 2020.
Mhango won the PSL title while playing for Wits in 2016.
Until two weeks ago, Mhango was the only registered Malawian player in the DStv Premiership.
Out of favour Flames striker Khuda Muyaba has joined Richards Bay on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, another Malawian Gerald Phiri Junior is still hunting for a club in South Africa.
Phiri returned to South Africa after leaving Sudanese giants Al Hilal last year.
His manager Paul Mitchell of Siyavuma Sports Group said his client was still training with Swallows hoping to clinch a deal.
“He is at Swallows and I will let you know if he signs,” Mitchell said.
Phiri has also played for several clubs in PSL such as Wits, Platinum, Ajax Cape Town and Baroka FC.
