Policy direction to ease balance of payment pressure by restricting seed imports may not come to pass this year as seed companies have not been engaged. Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Minister Roza Mbilizi also signalled the government’s position to backtrack on the policy stance, hinting at capacity constraints.
