Trending musician Christina Kholiyo, popularly known as Jetu, continues to enjoy the limelight in the entertainment realm, with the latest episode seeing Entertainers Promotions giving her and manager their first flight experience.

The 74-year-old artist, famed for tracks such as ‘Wakalamba Wafuna’ and ‘Chakwaza’, flew from Blantyre to Lilongwe courtesy of Entertainers Promotions led by Tonderai Banda to meet South African artist Nkosazana Daughter, christened Queen of Amapiano, ahead of the Pomme Breeze party at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) on Saturday night.

Tonderai said yesterday that he promised to give Jetu a VIP experience as Malawi’s Amapiano queen to meet a fellow queen from South Africa.

“I promised Jetu this VIP treatment and I am happy I fulfilled it. It was not about taking advantage of her fame but, rather, I wanted her to experience a VIP treat from the flight, cars to the hotel and then meeting Nkosazana Daughter,” he said.

Tonderai said Jetu, who recently also received a K6.5 million plot, was given a choice to be part of the Pomme Breeze launch party or even perform despite not being part of the menu.

Jetu, who said recently that music has enabled her to see places, was not readily available for her comment on Sunday.

He described the launch party powered by Castel Malawi, which pulled an impressive audience, as a success and that all artists including Nkosazana Daughter from the Rainbow Nation showed up.

Nkosazana Daughter performed in the country for the second time and shared the stage with Onesimus, who is also enjoying the limelight, having dropped his romantic hit ‘Controller’ recently and singer and guitarist Praise Umali of the ‘Ku Tiyeni’ fame.

There were also performances from other acts during the show, which Tonderai said gave people the much needed showbiz to enjoy Pommwe Breeze beer and music.

Ahead of the party, Castel Malawi launched Pomme beer.

Speaking during the launch, Castel Malawi Brand Manager Pheona Nyambo described the beer as tasty and that people will be enjoying it fresh.

“Pomme Breeze is different from other beers and it is tasty and is made from apple,” Nyambo said during a press briefing.
