A non-governmental organisation, JK Productions, has diversified its outreach programme to woo football legends to join the body.
One of the group’s technical and logistics members Gabriel Chirwa said they plan to attract former players and administrators, who are not yet affiliated with the body.
“This is a grouping that recognises and supports football legends, be it former players or administrators. Of late, we have realised that former players or administrators that do not use smartphones are left out.
“So, we are encouraging our members to use their community connections to search for legends that are incommunicado to join us,” Chirwa said.
The development comes after JK Productions board members travelled to Mzimba to condole with the family of late FCB Nyasa Big Bullets defender Kumbukani Lungu, who died in South Africa last year.

JK Productions Board Member Lawrence ‘Lule’ Waya said such activities would help bring together legends.
“During the burial ceremony, some board members, including the founder Jim Kalua, did not attend the ceremony. So, we came to pay our respects by visiting Banya [Kumbukani Lungu]’s resting place.
“It is operations like these that are making sense and bringing legends together,” Waya, who had an illustrious career with the Flames and Bullets, said.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Mabvuto Lungu, himself a Bullets and Flames legend, thanked JK Productions for assisting the family during the funeral.

“Led by the founder [Kalua], JK Productions has been supportive throughout the period,” Lungu said.
