Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (Kuhes) Sports Complex in Blantyre has organised a boot camp on February 14 to encourage couples to stay fit and live healthily.

Kuhes Sports Complex General Manager George Katunga announced this during a press briefing held over the weekend.

“We will have a boot camp on Saturday, February 14, which we have entitled ‘Valentine’s Boot Camp’. At this event, we are mainly inviting couples, as in man and woman, not necessarily husband and wife because others may not yet be married but, probably, they are engaged or something.

“So, we are encouraging those that are couples to come and participate in this boot camp. The boot camp will take place at Kuhes Sports Complex from as early as 6 o’clock in the morning up to 8 o’clock. So, two hours is enough time to shed off some fats,” Katunga said.

The development comes after Kuhes treated its members to a health walk along the Chikwawa Road last week.

Katunga said the earlier initiative was a success as 152 members turned up, surpassing their target of 100.

“We have since [arranged for another event] because we want to take our members to Zomba. We are inviting all our members to come and participate [in the activity]. We all know we do so many exercises at the Sports Complex but, this time around, we have decided that, once in a month, we should be taking our members away from the Sports Complex,” he said.

Katunga was flanked by other officials including Sports Administration Manager Geoffrey Biya and Business Development Executive Letitia Kachingwe.
