Football Legends Association (FLA) players have enhanced preparations for the international friendly match against Zambian counterparts.
The match is slated for Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in Lilongwe City on Sunday.
This will be the third meeting between the two sides. with Malawi legends looking for their first victory over Zambia.
During the first match, Zambia utilised home ground advantage to edge Malawi 2-1 at David Kaunda Stadium in Chipata in October 2023.
Last year, Malawi hosted Zambia at BNS and the match ended goalless. One of the key players for Malawi legends, Joseph Kamwendo, said they had intensified preparations to win the match.

“We really need to do well against Zambia because we have a score to settle. At this moment, we need to give the fans a special gift. This is why some legends were training in Blantyre and another camp was here in Lilongwe. The idea is to win the match to give the fans something special,” the former Mighty Wanderers, Orlando Pirates and TP Mazembe player said.
Kamwendo, who also played for Zimbabwe’s Caps United, said facing Zambia gives him special memories as he made his international debut against the Chipolopolo Boys in 2003 during a Cosafa Cup semi-final tie.
FLA Chairperson Jim Kalua said preparations for the match were thorough.
“At this moment, let me thank all the partners who have supported us ahead of this match,” Kalua, who is also Malawi National Council of Sports Board Chairperson, said.
