Despite showing signs of progress in the early stages, Malawi seems to be falling apart in the on-going My Booth reality show as it now remains with two contestants following the eviction of Alipo Mpita on Sunday alongside Zimbabwe’s Shantel.
Alipo, who failed to win the hearts of the judges during the Audition Song Challenge, joins Vanessa Nalikungwi and Sindi, who were evicted in the previous episodes with Chisomo Chimoto and Joe Kellz the survivors carrying Malawi’s flag.
Zimbabwe is also losing the plot in the reality show, a creation of Elation Entertainment featuring contenders from Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe as it also rests with two contestants following the eviction of Shantel.
Zambia has proved its strength in the competition as it has only lost one contestant since the evictions started and is dominating the proceedings as it remains with four contestants.
Elation Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Sokwani Chilembo said Monday that they were yielding great results out of the contestants, which is beneficial for Southern Africa and music across the globe.

“This week the final eight will perform duets in a cross country combination of music and constants. Each duet will be mentored by a judge, which technically will see judges judging each other as part of the exciting twist,” he said.
Chilembo, who is one of the judges, said in terms of episodes, people should look out for surprising twists.
“The evictions are based on performances and let me say it here that Malawi has shown tremendous support for the show and we have plans for various activations coming up to show our appreciation,” he said.
The other judges of the competition are the country’s musician Patience Namadingo, who is signed to Elation Entertainment, Maureen Lilanda and Blessing Bled Chimanga from Zimbabwe.
