State Vice President Saulos Chilima Sunday led Malawians in commemorating Poppy Day in Zomba City.
The commemorations coincided with the 105th anniversary of the end of the First World War on November 11 1918.
Chilima laid a wreath at Zomba Memorial Tower in the old capital, marking the climax of Remembrance Day activities.

Later, Malawi Defence Force Commander General Paul Valentino Phiri and Inspector General of Police (IG) Merlyn Yolamu also laid their wreaths.
Then came the turn of Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara and Chief Justice Rizine Mzikamanda, followed by Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Kondwani Nankhumwa.
