Baka City owners, Masters Group of Companies, say management has not yet given their newly appointed head coach Peter Mponda targets.
Masters, who have acquired Baka City’s Super League status, say they will set targets for Mponda once the recruitment exercise for players is completed.
The company’s chief executive officer Christopher Njeula said the main goal was to sign their targets before setting Mponda’s targets.
“We are still in the process of signing new players and, once that is completed, we will discuss [the issue] with the coach, [including] outlining our targets.
“The priority now is to give our coach all the players he wants and, then, we will go to the next step,” Njeula said.

Meanwhile, Mponda, who was in Karonga District conducting trials for the team’s current players, said he was not yet done on the market.
“We will conduct the second phase of player trials later this month and it is from there where we will see our position with the team,” he said.
Masters have completed the signing of former Flames goalkeeper Brighton Munthali, former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets striker Antony Mfune and midfielder Benson Manyozo.
