Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Coach Mark Harrison has urged his boys to double their efforts when they face Blue Eagles in a TNM Super League match at Nankhaka Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
Straight from their controversial Airtel Top 8 match against Silver Strikers at Bingu National Stadium on Saturday, whose results have been withheld, Wanderers should brace for another tough task against in-form Eagles.
The Eliya Kananji-led technical panel has turned things around as the Eagles have played five consecutive matches without a loss, winning four and drawing once.
However, this afternoon’s match provides Wanderers with a perfect opportunity to reclaim top spot after they were displaced by rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets following their 1-0 win over Mighty Tigers last Thursday.

Both Bullets and Wanderers have 40 points but the People’s Team has played 19 matches whereas the Lali Lubani outfit has played 21 matches.
However, Wanderers must dig deeper into their reserve to get a positive result at Nankhaka Stadium.
Since 2018, when they won 3-0, Wanderers are still searching for their first win over Eagles at the Area 30-based stadium.
Harrison said he would not read too much into history.

“We need to get the three points. Honestly, we need the points more than them. We expect a tough game as they are doing well and we should not give them room to play,” Harrison said.
In the first round, Wanderers defeated Eagles 1-0 at Kamuzu Stadium.
In 2022, Wanderers lost by a similar margin before a 1-1 stalemate in the second round.
Kananji said the match against Wanderers is a big test.
“We respect them but we want all the three points. There is renewed hope in our camp and we believe we will get a good result,” Kananji said.
Kananji will rely on Sankhani Mkandawire, Schumacher Kuwali, Christopher Gototo and Ranken Mwale.
Eagles will be looking to cement their place in the top eight this season. They are on position eight with 30 points from 23 matches.
Elsewhere, Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar will host Karonga United at Dedza Stadium whereas Mafco will face Tigers at Chitowe Stadium.
