Mighty Wanderers’ unbeaten run faces a stern test when they face Karonga United in a TNM Super League match at Karonga Stadium this afternoon.
Going into the match, the Nomads are the only unbeaten side in the league this season but Karonga have been a tough nut to crack especially at their home.
What is more at stake is that the match is also a perfect opportunity for Wanderers to reclaim top spot in the league.
Wanderers are in second position with 22 points from eight matches, two points behind leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets who have played a game more.
The Nomads need to be brave as they have a score to settle against Karonga having lost 2-1 in last year’s fixture.

Again, they also lost 2-0 to Karonga in this year’s Airtel Top 8 at the same venue to bow out of the competition 2-1 on aggregate as the Nomads won the first leg 1-0.
Going into the match, Wanderers defeated Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos 2-0 at Kamuzu Stadium.
This will be Wanderers’ third match outside Blantyre this season.
The Nomads have collected six points from two matches on the road, having beaten Creck Sporting Club 1-0 and Kamuzu Barracks 3-0.

Both matches were played at Champion Stadium in Mponela, Dowa district.
On the other hand, Karonga are coming from back-to-back losses having lost 2-1 to Bullets in the Airtel Top 8 before a 3-1 defeat to defending champions Silver Strikers at Silver Stadium on Wednesday.
Karonga have a chance to move to position four on the log table if they get maximum points in this afternoon’s match.
Currently, Karonga are sixth with 15 points from eight matches.
Karonga Coach Oscar Kaunda believes his charges are in the right frame of mind.
“We expect a very difficult match against Wanderers. We respect any team but we do not fear them,” Kaunda said.
Kaunda has assembled a good squad comprising Patrick Phiri, Allen Chihana, Alfred Chizinga and Saulos Moyo.
On the other hand, Wanderers Coach Bob Mpinganjira said his troops were ready for the showdown.
“We know the task at hand. It is always difficult but we are very prepared for the match,” Mpinganjira said.
The Nomads are enjoying a rich vein of form this season. They are capable of beating any force in domestic football.
Mpinganjira has a lot of talent such as Wisdom Mpinganjira, Gaddie Chirwa, Promise Kamwendo, Francisco Madinga and Blessings Singini.
