Germany-based model Racheal Hoepfner Gausi has kept the flame vibrant with her latest outings featuring at the Berlin Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.
She starred at Berlin Fashion Week on February 8 2024 before modelling at Paris Fashion Week in France on March 5 2024.
Racheal, who is a nurse by profession, said Monday she has had good experiences featuring at what she described as biggest platforms as far as fashion weeks are concerned.
“Paris Fashion Week is the biggest in the world compared to Berlin Fashion Week. It is every model’s dream, including that of myself, to experience this. I am looking forward to taking part in more fashion weeks to come,” she said.
Racheal said her participation at the two fashion weeks enriched her profile as a model and that, in her walks, she continues to fly Malawi’s flag.

“It is very stressful at times. At the Paris Fashion Week, I walked for seven different designers from Poland, England and Italy. Prior to the show, I had two hard days of preparations including fittings and cat-walking training. You have to be mentally and physically fit,” she said yesterday.
Racheal further said she had a good experience as a new-comer model, connecting with models from Paris, London and Amsterdam, the Netherlands as well as designers, photographers and fashion stylists from all over the world.
“My wish is to represent Malawi and I hope that, one day, I will be able to walk for a Malawian designer in Paris, New York Fashion Week in United States of America or Milan Fashion Week in Italy,” she said.
She calls upon fellow designers in the country to stay focused.

“Malawi is massive, when it comes to talent, and I am not only talking about modeling or fashion design but other art forms.
“However, the biggest challenge is lack of support. I hope the government, through relevant ministries, will open up to support local fashion designers to patronise some of these international fashion weeks,” the 38-year-old model, who left the country in 2016, said.
