The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) recovered K3.4 billion from smuggled goods seized in the three months to June, nearly double the K2.03 billion-worth items recovered during the corresponding period last year.
In a written response, MRA Head of Corporate Affairs Wilma Chalulu said between April and June, Customs and Excise officers recorded 161 seizures, slightly down from 165 in the corresponding period last year.
