Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have promoted Meck Mwase to the position of head Coach on an interim basis after the club accepted Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan’s resignation on Sunday.
Ramadhan tendered in his resignation to the club’s president Thomson Mpinganjira immediately after a 2-0 loss to Mzuzu City Hammers at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday.
The result did not go down well with a section of the team’s supporters which demanded his immediate removal.
Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi said Mwase will be in charge up to the end of the second round.
“We have given him up to mid-season and his first match in charge will be against Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos [at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre]. We will be closely monitoring his performance and the final decision will be made afterwards,” Ndovi said.

Mwase said he has accepted the appointment with humility and is ready to serve.
“All I can ask for is patience from the Wanderers family. What they should know is that I will give it my all. I will try to push the team forward so that it starts winning again. I know there is a lot of pressure out there but reviving the team into a winning side is a process.
“It is all about mindset change. Let has to be unity of purpose among players, supporters, members of the technical panel and the board. I believe this can help us to start winning again,” he said.
Mwase is credited for helping Malawi National Football Team qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
