National Bank of Malawi (NBM) on Wednesday donated five severance cameras worth K8.1 million to Blantyre Police Station.
The cameras will be installed in Blantyre City as one way of enhancing security.
NBM Chief Financial Officer Masauko Katsala said the bank remains committed to ensuring that businesses are operating freely, hence the support.
He urged other entities to join the effort.

“We recognise that law enforcement agencies cannot work in isolation. Therefore, the police will require support and active participation of the entire community,” Katsala said.
He then committed to explore several avenues to support Blantyre Police Station in enhancing security.
Blantyre Police Station Deputy Commissioner Aubrey Nyirenda thanked the bank for the support, which he rated as timely.
He said Blantyre Police Station targets to install more than 50 cameras within the city.
