National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc has committed to continue sponsoring golf in the country.
The bank’s interim head of retail banking, William Chatsala, made the remarks during the prize presentation of the Beyond Banking Invitational Golf Tournament at Lilongwe Golf Club on Saturday.
He said the tournament offered the bank the platform to interact with customers.
“We, as a bank, believe in building lasting relationships that extend beyond the fairways and into the communities and institutions that bring people together,” he said.
Chatsala said the tournament, which was held under the theme ‘Beyond Banking’, reflected the bank’s evolution from traditional bank into a diversified financial services group that was capable of supporting its customers beyond their banking needs.
