Promoted NBS Bank National Division League sides have warned TNM Super League teams to underrate them at their peril.
The teams—namely Red Lions, Mitundu Baptist and Baka City—have earned Super League promotion after emerging in the three top positions.
Lions Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Major Eric Masenda, whose team emerged inaugural champions, warned all teams in the top flight league that they would find it hard to beat the Zomba-based outfit.
“We will give them every support needed for the team to perform well. We are pretty sure our team will do better [than last time] this time around. We will beef up the team where necessary,” he said.
On his part, Baka City Assistant Coach Martin Nkhonya said they were now a changed side, having been equipped in the NBS Bank National Division League.

“The NBS Bank National League gave us the platform to experience what the TNM Super League is all about. It was tough and earning promotion into the elite league means a lot to us. We will beef up the team with players from fellow teams we played against in the second-tier league,” he said.
Lions finished top with 47 points whereas Mitundu ended second with 41 points, one ahead of third-placed Baka.
For emerging champions, Lions received K15 million, with the runners-up pocketing K10 million.
The third-placed side got K5 million.
