“Taking on the Malawi Queens role is an exciting opportunity to work in a new environment and challenge myself in a different netball culture,” she said.
Fuller said her familiarity with Malawi from past international encounters made her appreciate the Queens, which she described as a fast and dynamic side, and expressed enthusiasm about working with an energetic group of players and officials.
Fuller brings more than 25 years of experience at the elite level.
She served as assistant coach for New Zealand Silver Ferns from 2018 to 2025, a period during which the team won gold at the 2019 Netball World Cup, several Constellation Cup titles and bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Under her one-year contract, Fuller will appoint a technical team including an assistant coach, team manager, strength and conditioning lead and physiotherapist, while working with six local coaches under a succession plan.
Netball Association of Malawi General Secretary Yamikani Kauma said the fraternity was excited about Fuller’s arrival, saying her experience would be vital ahead of the 2026 campaign.
“Fuller’s vast international experience and proven record at the highest level of netball will greatly strengthen our preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games and the Africa Netball Cup. We believe Debbie’s athlete-centred and high-performance approach will complement Malawi’s strong netball culture and help our players reach their full potential,” she said.
