No Pain No Gain Boxing stable has bounced back after almost four years of inactivity.
The stable made headlines eight years ago when it promoted female pugilist Anisha Basheel to win the African Boxing Union super featherweight belt in 2017 and Commonwealth Boxing Council title in 2018.
No Pain No Gain Boxing Promotions Chief Executive Officer Craig Rousseau said the stable had resurfaced to give budding boxers a chance.
“We had to take a break because we had given most boxers chances. We gave them fights, both local and international, as well as title and non-title bouts. So, we feel it is high time we gave others a chance,” Rousseau said.
Rousseau said they were in discussions with youthful boxers, including newly-crowned National Super Middleweight champion Wilson ‘Bronze Boy’ Phiri, to join the stable.

“But there are about four or five young and interesting boxers who I would like to help. I now have the interest to go again,” he said.
On his part, Phiri, who defeated seasoned Simeon Tcheta to win the super middleweight belt, confirmed being in discussions with No Pain No Gain Boxing Promotions.
“We are, indeed, talking and it presents a good opportunity for me as I do not belong to any management. I need to be managed by professionals if my career is to yield more positive results. I just hope that things will work out for the good of both parties,” he said.
Phiri has seven wins and two defeats.
