Mighty Wanderers have appointed new national and regional supporters’ committees, just two weeks after dissolving the previous committee.
This comes after the club’s extraordinary board meeting, which was held on April 26, 2026.
In a statement released on Tuesday, signed by board secretary Chancy Gondwe, Wanderers said the appointments were with immediate effect.
Following the changes, Mark Chimwenje has been appointed new national supporters’ committee chairperson, replacing Mervin Nkunika, who is now the supporters’ adviser.
In an interview Wednesday, Chimwenje, who previously served as national supporters vice chairperson, said he felt honoured.

“I am really humbled with the appointment. I did not expect it,” Chimwenje said.
He said his main task would be to bridge the gap between the supporters and the board.
“I will act as a link between the supporters and the board. I believe that, together, we are going to make Wanderers mighty again,” he said.
Kenneth Kalonga and Saidi Dinyero have been appointed national supporters’ committee general secretary and treasurer, respectively.
