Mighty Wanderers Thursday arrived in Francistown, Botswana, for their Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round second leg match against Jwaneng Galaxy Saturday evening.
The team’s 50-man entourage comprises nine board members, 24 players, 10 technical panel members and other personnel.
Wanderers flew straight to their destination on a chartered plane from Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe in a journey that took them one hour.
Speaking upon arrival in the foreign land, coach Bob Mpinganjira said their priority remains defending their 1-0 win from the first leg played at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.
“We must defend well and also get some goals here. We are very cautious about how we want to play here. We want to score first and put a lot of pressure on our opponents. At the same time we must defend our lone goal,” Mpinganjira said.

Wanderers Team Manager Steve Madeira said defending their goal is of paramount importance if they are to go through.
“Besides defending, we also need to score so that we are comfortable. We cannot just be counting on the lone goal,” Madeira said.
He said morale in camp is high in the team and everyone is looking forward to a win.
Wanderers Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe hailed club president Thomson Mpinganjira for directing that the team flies on the chartered plane.

“It is very rare for a local team to charter a plane as we have done. This is a big motivation to the team and we are very grateful to our president,” Gondwe said.
Captain Felix Zulu scored the all-important goal that is giving Wanderers the advantage ahead of Saturday’s showdown.
Wanderers just need a draw to qualify for the next round where they will face the winner between Libreville of Gabon and Zambia’s Zesco United.
The Nomads have returned to continental football after an eight-year absence.
