Mighty Wanderers are sweating to extend Francisco Madinga’s contract as the attacking midfielder is yet to commit to a new deal.
According to a statement which the club released Tuesday, Madinga’s contract will expire on August 6.
The club says it is determined to keep the attacking player.
“The club wishes to inform its supporters, stakeholders and the general public that midfielder Francisco Madinga is under a valid contract with the club, which is set to expire on 6th August 2025. The contract remains in full effect and binding on both parties until its stated expiry date.
“In the meantime, the club is currently engaged in discussions with Mr. Madinga regarding a possible contract renewal. These negotiations are ongoing and being handled with utmost professionalism and mutual respect,” reads the statement, which has been signed by Wanderers Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe.

The development follows social media reports that Madinga and Wanderers had parted ways.
Madinga was not included in Wanderers’ squad which drew 1-1 with Moyale Barracks in the Northern Region.
Wanderers opened a six-point lead over the second-placed team, namely rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
However, Madinga trashed the social media reports.
