Award- winning musician Onesimus, better known as African Butter, opens his 2026 music schedule with a combat against his former name Armstrong.
This is a tussle of the musician’s current and former name and the activity is dubbed Armstrong versus Onesimus: The Never-Ending Battle.
The event will be held on February 28, 2026 at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.
The event has since stirred debate among fans on social media, with fans divided over whether to support Onesimus or Armstrong.

The artist said he did not change his name Armstrong but clarified that Onesimus is his stage name.
“I am still Armstrong. Some people are still in love with Armstrong’s music while others have interest in Onesimus. The styles are different because music has evolved,” he said.
Onesimus said the concert would present two distinct sounds. “The touch of Armstrong and Onesimus are two different genres. There is Malawian music in it; there is afro-beat in it. It is a whole different package altogether,” he said. Onesimus said, being a brand new year, he thought of giving his fans something different. “I do not know which name will come out top on the day but fans should expect something good on the day,” the ‘Controller’ star said. He said the event will have no supporting acts.
