Silver Strikers players have every reason to walk tall, as each will pocket K1 million for winning the First Capital Bank (FCB) 30 Years Anniversary Cup.
They defeated FCB Nyasa Big Bullets 2-0 at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe Sunday.
Binwell Katinji and Innocent Shema scored for Silver in the first half.
Both teams displayed good football despite featuring some fringe players.
However, it was Silver who played with purpose, as Katinji grabbed the opener in the ninth minute.

Andrew Jovinala had a chance to pull Bullets level when he connected with a cross from Lameck Gamphani, but his header went off target.
Shema doubled Silver’s lead from the penalty spot after Chikumbutso Henderson was adjudged to have fouled Katinji in the box after 31 minutes.
After the break, Bullets nearly pulled one back but Pilirani Mapira denied Sean McBrams.
Bullets’ Ephraim Kondowe also came close to scoring, but his header went over the bar in the 67th minute.

In the 77th minute, things went from bad to worse for Bullets when Clever Mkungula was red carded for fouling Stain Davie.
Interestingly, the two teams will also meet in the Airtel Top 8 final at the same venue on July 12.
The match was organised as part of the celebrations of FCB Bank’s 30 years of existence.
The proceeds will go towards supporting Luwinga Inclusive Football Academy in Mzuzu.
