The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has slapped Kamuzu Barracks Football Club (FC) with a K3.5 million fine for being found guilty of misconduct.
This follows an incident that happened during and after their FDH Bank Premiership match against Luanar Mitundu FC at Dedza Stadium on May 2, 2026.
A Sulom statement, released Wednesday, says the club is required to settle the fine before their next fixture.
“The club is required to settle the fine in full before its next fixture and has been issued with a formal warning against any recurrence of similar misconduct,” the Sulom statement reads.

Meanwhile, Sulom has handed a three-match ban to KB defender Mike Mtonyo and team doctor Thomas Nyirenda for bringing the league into disrepute.

Sulom says it remains committed to upholding discipline, integrity and sportsmanship in the FDH Bank Premiership.
“Kamuzu Barracks is urged to ensure that its players, officials and supporters respect match officials, promote fair play and uphold the values of the game,” Sulom says in the statement.
KB Vice-General Secretary Genesis Khanje asked for ample time before he could comment on the matter.
“I need to consult before I comment,” he said.

Luanar defeated KB 1-0 as they secured their first win in the FDH Bank Premiership in May this year.
The two teams shared the spoils after a 1-1 stalemate in the second-round match played at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe City.
