It does not get any better than this. The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) got a timely boost after it secured a landmark K260 million sponsorship from Premier Bet a few days before the start of the 2024 TNM Super League season.
The sponsorship was announced during the Sulom Dinner and Dance at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe on Saturday.
This is incredible as it sets the pace for the kickoff of the league with more goodies.
Indeed, the partnership will change the landscape of domestic football.
Through the partnership, each of the 16 clubs will get K10 million.

Newly elected Sulom president Gilbert Mittawa could not hide his excitement.
“We are really overwhelmed with the support from the corporate world. On a special note, we thank Premier Bet for heeding our call with K260 million sponsorship which will be a co-sponsorship with the TNM package, which will be unveiled soon,” Mittawa said.

TNM are the official sponsors of the elite league in Malawi.
The sponsorship package is currently at K150 million per season but the company made a commitment to increase the sponsorship before the start of the season.

Football Association of Malawi (Fam) President Fleetwood Haiya said during the prize presentation of the 2023 season in Blantyre that the association expects the sponsors to consider the K500 million threshold when adjusting the package for this season.
In his speech on Saturday, Haiya urged Sulom to be accountable and transparent to win the trust of the corporate world.
“I am happy that Sulom president has assured the companies and all potential sponsors that the league governing body will be accountable and transparent,” Haiya said.
During the event, business mogul Thomson Mpinganjira, who was the guest of honour donated K10 million to Sulom.
In his speech, Mpinganjira also emphasised the need for transparency and accountability. Several companies and individuals also donated money to the league governing body.
Meanwhile, Sulom has unveiled a new logo. At the event, Sulom also honoured some individuals. Former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers striker Chiukepo Msowoya was awarded for scoring the highest number of goals since 2000 with 129 goals whereas former Moyale Barracks striker Gastin Simkonda was recognised for being the second highest goal scorer with 116 goals.
