The Kingstons reality show featuring the hottest couple of award-winning Amapiano star Zeze Kingston and Dorothy, who is a fashionista and business woman, finally premiered on Friday on Times Television and Times360 Malawi on Facebook after failing to do so on January 12 2024 due to technical glitches.
The first episode of the reality show takes people on a ride of meeting The Kingstons, telling the story of the couple’s connection with a number of interviews.
The reality show has since attracted mixed reactions from the people with some congratulating The Kingstons and Times Television for putting on the screens a reality show.
“Jealous down, Times and crew have actually delivered the first reality TV show in Mdubz. Production on point. May others follow,” Mphatso Chaluluka said on his Facebook page.
Loveness Msanide Daka said she had watched the reality show and that she was contented.

“I have watched it, I love it regardless of whether some are saying it’s a documentary but it is good. Big up The Kingstons,” she said.
Lisa Kaliyapa hailed The Kingstons for the reality show.
“Thank you for this. People will easily appreciate overseas shows, movies and music more than our own as if it is that easy,” Kaliyapa said.
However others felt the show lacked the tenets of a reality show and that the episode was more like a documentary.

“They could have done better. For me it’s more like a documentary and not a reality show. Let them improve in the next episode,” Gilbert Phiri said.
Dorothy, however, posted a statement addressing the issue of documentary versus reality show.
“The first episode in every reality show is called Meet the… and in our case it was meeting the Kingstons, you needed to know them and their relatives before following their day to day life. We needed to introduce them, who are they (Zeze and Dorothy) and their relation. It is after introducing them that we start to follow different story lines,” the statement reads.
The statement further says that going forward, the reality show will not be having voice over but it may include interviews here and there.
It says that in episode two, the reality show will now dive into more conversation and less interviews.
Times Television Station Manager Wonder Msiska said they were happy about The Kingstons reality show project, being the first of its kind on the local entertainment scene to feature the most followed couple in showbiz.
