Impakt Events, organisers of Sand Music Festival which this year will be sprinting for its 13th edition, have said they are prepared to give people an exciting time with four international acts and more local acts set to perform over the three days.
Having been held in Salima for years, this year’s Sand Music Festival will take place at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi from September 29 to October 1.
“We are set for the festival; I can say that we are making strides moving towards 100 percent and we are currently on the ground, making sure that everything is in place,” Impakt Events Director Soldier Lucius Band said.
He highlighted that they would want fun seekers to experience the festival to the fullest by embracing all the three days.
“Despite the economic challenges, we have not hiked the entry packages and this is because we are a festival for everyone and we want them to be there and celebrate with us,” the legendary musician said.

Going forward, Lucius said the festival will be headlined by local acts but it will maintain its stature of bringing international acts.
“This is why we have four international acts this year including Jamaica’s Kenyatta Hill, who is making a return, having offered a top notch performance in 2018, and we will preserve this trend as a festival,” he said.
Lucius said the international artists, apart from entertaining the audience, are engaged to interact with local artists, share ideas and learn from each other.
Apart from Kenyatta Hill, some of the international acts set to perform include South Africa’s Murumba Pitch Zambia’s Organised Family and Nigeria’s Spyro.
