Zambian club Zanaco and Bangwe All Stars have settled for K13.5 million as transfer fee for Malawi National Football Team midfielder Robert Saizi.
Saizi, who has agreed personal terms with Zanaco, is expected to sign a two-and-a-half year contract.
Both Bangwe owner Mphatso Jika and Global Sports Agency Director Haroon Cassim confirmed the development in separate interviews.
According to Jika, Bangwe have accepted the K13.5 million transfer fee for the player as they have put a clause which states that they will get 20 percent if the Zambian club sells the player to another team.
“Saizi is young and a good player, so we hope he will develop further in Zambia. He will join Zanaco with our blessings,” Jika said.

Cassim said Saizi will also get 20 percent of the transfer fee on top of the signing-on fee.
“A team from Norway was interested in the services of Saizi. But Zanaco showed serious interest. We are excited that they handled the matter professionally,” he said.
Cassim said Saizi will get about K14 million as signing-on-fee and a “lucrative monthly salary”.
Saizi’s parent club Play Football Malawi Academy (PFM) Director Davie Mpima, who is also General Secretary for National Football Coaches Association, was delighted with the youngster’s move.

The Flames midfielder joined Bangwe from PFM in a deal worth K3 million at the start of last season.
He will reunite with compatriot Chawanangwa Kaonga, who joined Zanaco from Silver Strikers last year. Kaonga scored for Zanaco in a 2-1 win over Trident FC on Sunday.
