HAPPY MOMENT—Ndovi lifts the Ibongetse trophy

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have nominated 21 players to compete for awards at the ‘Presidential Ball’ ceremony.

Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Panganeni Ndovi said the club’s president Thomson Mpinganjira is expected to honour players and other individuals who have had a significant impact on the club in the just-ended season.

“The club president will preside over the event and award various performers in the just-ended season. He will also give out the Presidential Award to an individual who has had a significant impact on the club. Outstanding players in the main, women, youth and reserve sides are also expected to be recognised,” Ndovi said.

Wanderers won the Castel Challenge Cup after beating Mzuzu City Hammers 1-0 in the final and they finished second in the league, behind champions Silver Strikers.

It was a commendable achievement as the Nomads wrapped the 2023 season without silverware.

Wanderers Communications Officer Chimwemwe Kaonga advised fans to vote for the nominees to win awards in the ‘Presidential Ball’ ceremony.

“Following the unveiling, fans now have the opportunity to vote for outstanding players in the just-ended season.

“We have now released the list of nominees and we encourage our supporters to cast their votes through the link published on our Facebook page,” Kaonga said.
