Organisers of Mzinda Lifestyle Fashion Show, Mzinda Premium, have said all is set for the activity.

They have further described it as a celebration of cosmopolitan lifestyle of the modern African.

This year’s Mzinda Lifestyle fashion show is scheduled for this Sunday at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.

KUNDA DAKA— Fashion and art enthusiasts should expect a unique and first-of-its kind experience

Mzinda Lifestyle Premium Events Manager Chris Kunda Daka said the inspiration behind the idea was to create a platform that would bring together fashion and art enthusiasts from different countries.

“We wanted to create space where these creatives could converge. Fashion and art enthusiasts should expect a unique and first-of-its kind experience,” Daka, who is also President of Models Association of Malawi, said.

He was quick to point out that Mzinda Lifestyle Fashion would be an annual event.

Majumbili Fashions, Nana’s Closet, Chicco Fashions, Dolphin Designs, Phyllis 64, Jant’s Collection, Maso Soma Designs, Del Africa and Machi the Designer are some of the designers expected to showcase products.

Area 18B Praise Sangwa of Majumbili Fashions could not hide his excitement at the prospect of showcasing items at the event.

“The brand is ready to make a comeback on the runway. I have only been to two fashion shows. The first one was in 2018 and my last show was in 2020, it’s been a long time in between. It’s exciting and I hope I will give people a good show.

“Expect a better version of Praise. We are growing and perfecting the imperfections,” said the 25-year-old designer.

Models Joy Ubeku from Nigeria, Katherine Kuomba from Ghana, Maggie Chanda and Serah Amisha from Zambia, Future Nyoni from Zimbabwe and Monalisa Kafuwa from Malawi will also catwalk at Mzinda Lifestyle Fashion Show.

In a separate interview from Nigeria, actress and model Joy Ubeku, who is visiting Malawi for the second time, said she is bringing her vast experience to the Mzinda Lifestyle Fashion Show.

“I am excited to bring some Met Gala vibes to Malawi this year. They better be ready because Joy is coming,” she said.

Joy has graced prestigious runways across the globe, including Emirates Fashion Week Dubai, Runway Dubai, International Fashion Week Milan, International Fashion Week Dubai, Zikomo Africa Awards Zambia, Seychelles Fashion Week, BAFS Malawi, Runway Ghana International Show, Fashion for Change Ghana and KDV Fashion Show, among others.

She has also collaborated with esteemed brands and designers worldwide, including Noza Nova (Poland), Aliya Tuman (Russia), Sabina Skalny (Poland), Dianawalkiewicz (Poland), Deshe Collection (Ghana), Mina Collection (Ghana), House of Micky (Ghana), Unik Fashion (Togo), Allan David Collection (Ghana) and many others.

Fashion showcasing starts at 5pm through to 8:30pm.

The dress code is vibrant and chic with a touch of yellow elegance.

Music will be provided by 4 Finders Band, a classic Rock band from Europe.

Other activities at the Mzinda Lifestyle Fashion show include aerobics with Uncle Rugby from 6am to 8am, Red Carpet from 4pm to 5pm and tattoo drawing.
