Fun lovers on Saturday braved cold and showery weather to patronise a gig at Club 24/7 in Blantyre, where brought on board renowned artists including Amapiano star Zeze Kingston.
Club 24/7 has turned into an entertainment haven and, so, it was a routine run for the outfit on Saturday bringing a concert dubbed Fun Time Showdown that spilled over to the early hours of Sunday, with Lilongwe-based singer, guitarist and producer Lulu closing the curtain.
Clad in African attire with a pair of white sneakers, Lulu, with his three piece band that included a keyboardist and guitarist, jumped on stage soon after the audience had enjoyed the performance of Zeze Kingston.

Lulu wasted no time when master of ceremonies during this section, Times Group presented Blak Jak, announced that he was next, such that he went straight to business to dish out a number of songs non-stop off his several collections including ‘Mwachenjera Darling’ and ‘Kumalembe’.
The audience could not resist but sing along to most of the songs that Lulu dished out on the night while captivating them with his dance antics.

Zeze Kingston, who was in the company of his wife Dorothy, who at one-time also invaded the stage to dance to one of the songs, kept the audience lively with his songs, which included ‘Kusangalala’.
“I am always excited when I connect with the audience. They are the ones that have built my brand. This is why I party during my shows and bring out my A game,” the artist, who was supported by a DJ on the decks, said.
Apart from Blak Jak being the host, who at one time took advantage of the stage to show his music mastery, DJ Damex was another host during the show that also attracted the presence of Piksy, who starred with his Langwani Movement Band.
The ‘Unamata’ star excited the audience and had people singing along to most of his songs, including ‘Anana’ and ‘Chonchobe.

The other artists that performed on the night included local shakers — Joe Gwaladi and Gibo Pearson, who had even a special flash when they collaborated in one of the songs.
Nepman of the ‘Nalero’ fame also had his stake on the night, when some people walked away with cash prizes courtesy of FDH Bank.
Random interviews with some of the patrons indicated they were satisfied with the concert despite the cold and showery weather.
