Couples, singles and fun lovers on Saturday braved rains to patronise a Love and Vibes concert at Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre.
Organised by Classic Events in partnership with DJ Kenny, and powered by Premier Bet, the sold-out show lived up to its billing, treating people to an explosive night of celebrating love on Valentine’s Day.
The colours of red and white, symbolising love, ruled the night as patrons relished sounds from a number of artists.
Patience Namadingo closed the curtain.
There were even instants when couples surprised each other with flowers, with the pick of it being that of musician Teddy Makadi, who, during his performance of the track ‘Naliyela’, gave Nana flowers.

The audience cheered them on.
Teddy exited the stage with the track ‘M’malele’, which had patrons singing along.
Hosted by Blak Jak and Nicole Kamwendo, there was also a performance from Saint Realest, who breathed life to the stage with his energetic set before Namadingo took over.
Namadingo performed up to the early hours of Sunday.

Namadingo, clad in his usual white shirt and black pair of trousers and traditional gear [known as Mthini] on his head, dished out several songs that had people singing along.
Performing for almost an hour-and-a-half, Namadingo ended his set on a high with the track ‘Tuli’, which was voted Song of the Year last year at the Urban Music People (UMP) and Maso awards.
Earlier on, patrons got a share of Lilongwe-based artist Loiso’s performance, which was his first in the commercial city since he came to the limelight with the track ‘Liva’.
One of the patrons, Esther Phiri, said she enjoyed the performances.
“Being Valentine’s Day, this concert has offered me the much-needed entertainment. All the artists were on point but I enjoyed Patience Namadingo more,” Phiri said.
Classic Event’s Edson Kawalala hailed people for coming out in large numbers to be part of the concert.
“It was a sold-out event. We would like to thank everyone who came for their beautiful smiles. This has encouraged us to come out with more unique shows. This was for Valentine’s Day,” Kawalala said.
Premier Bet, as the main sponsor, also conducted draws during the concert, with three people winning accommodation at Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel.
